A Study Comparing Intrinsic Motivation and Opinions on Learning Science (Grades 6) and Taking the International PISA Test (Grade 9)

Research findings indicate a decline in students’ motivation towards science learning through grade levels. However, there is lack of studies investigating comparing between subjects and at different school Using self-determination theory as framework, this study compares perceived changes intrinsic student opinions on the relevance themes among students grades 6 9 (the end compulsory schooling). To explore such learning, multidimensional validated instrument developed used to collect empirical data from 2673 848 students. Results research statistically significant subject differences regarding sub-components declining trend sub-scales for with age.
